And if you follow her, you'll agree that when it comes to her wedding season wardrobe, the actor is all for experimenting.
Rakul Preet Singh seems to have an outfit for every mood. One peek into her closet, and you’ll find it all—saris, lehengas, suits and gowns. She’s also open to trying the creations of newer designers. So, while we may have spotted her in more than one occasion, her wardrobe also boasts interesting pieces from upcoming names. She’s definitely vocal about promoting Indian handlooms—during the lockdown, she also appealed to her followers to support the cause. When opting for saris, the actor looks for pieces with exquisite craftsmanship. For the wedding of Samantha Akkineni and Naga Chaitanya, she went with an ornate beige sari. The drape featured intricate cutwork and embroidery and was complemented by a black, backless blouse with kamdani sleeves.
This love for intricate workmanship is also reflected in her generous collection of lehengas. During the nuptials of Saina Nehwal and Parupalli Kashyap, the actor was spotted in a delicate off-white lehenga with floral embroidery that was further accentuated with sequins work. A bustier blouse and sheer dupatta completed the outfit, which was paired with a heavy gold, jewelled choker. Yet another ensemble with intricate work was her sky blue lehenga set with floral motifs done in zardozi and sequins. The tulle lehenga was an ideal pick for a day wedding.
Rakul Preet Singh may pull off timeless classics with poise, but she’s often been seen making a case for modern silhouettes too. For Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh's reception, she made a lasting impression with her stark black, sequinned gown. Slicked back hair, nude makeup and a pair of edgy ear cuffs were her only accompaniments. Another time, it was a skirt + crop top look by Jade by Monica and Karishma that won her vote. And for yet another occasion, she opted for a Pratyusha Garimella look: a sequinned ivory jacket worn over a lehenga that was paired with statement chandelier earrings. Over the years, the actor's festive wardrobe has proven to be a lesson in versatility. Scroll through for some of her most noteworthy looks.
