Almost three years since Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas tied the knot in December 2018 at Umaid Bhawan Palace, Jodhpur, fans are still commenting on, double-tapping and saving inspiration photos from the nuptials. The movie-worthy celebration had the most major beauty moments, and if you’re planning a wedding here’s the inspiration you’ll want to cop from the star.
Pick a beauty entourage that understands your aesthetic
When it came to her wedding makeup, the star hired a team of hair and makeup artists that she’d worked with in the past, and knew exactly how to translate her beauty moodboard to real life. For her Hindu ceremony, Chopra Jonas worked with Mickey Contractor, a makeup artist who is known for creating matte skin, a smoky eye and a bold lip. For her Christian ceremony, she went with Yumi Mori, who she’s worked with for press appearances and red carpets, and who had the brush skills to create the glowing skin she’d wanted to complement her white Ralph Lauren dress.
When in doubt, go with a red lip
She may have experimented with browns, pinks and nude shades in the past, but when it comes to a major event, Chopra Jonas likes relying on a red lip. For her Indian wedding function, the actor paired her red Sabyasachi lehenga with a similar shaded lipstick in a matte finish. To tie it all together, she picked soft washes of terracotta and bronze on the lids, and reached for bronzer and a deep blush on her cheeks.
Stick to one bold feature
To walk down the aisle, Chopra Jonas chose a super pigmented berry lipstick shade, so it placed an emphasis on radiant skin, filled-in brows and a strong lip. The actor has always stood by that philosophy: “There should be one hero,” she told Vogue India. “Pick one feature—eyes, skin or mouth—and enhance that. Also find out what works for you and suits your skin type, skin tone and your face structure.”
A messy bun is always a good idea
The actor has always been a fan of the low bun, and she wears it often, like for both her wedding ceremonies. But for her mehandi, she took a more playful route and went with a messy bun with face-framing tendrils. Tendrils can have tapered ends that create angles, which soften the jawline and bring attention to your eyes—and your earrings if you’re wearing dramatic ones.
If you have signature eyebrows, leave them be for your wedding
Love a dramatic brow? Chopra Jonas does too. Through her wedding celebration, she kept her always-bold brows filled in and brushed up. “I am all about the eyebrows! Gosh, I am so glad they grew back from the early 2000s trend of skinny eyebrows because I used to have them! Now, I love that I’ve grown my eyebrows enough—they are thick and bushy and I like to have them specifically shaped. They are so important to frame the face,” she shared recently.
